Glifft
A mobile iOS app used for finding great gifts through machine learning
About Glifft
Founded in 2016 by two good friends who were tired of the pain points involved with finding thoughtful gifts, Glifft provides quick personal gift suggestions using human curation and machine learning technology.
Glifft offers two products that use these services: a personal web concierge and a soon-to-be released mobile iOS app for everyday use.
Design Challenge
Glifft came to us with their second new product in mind: a mobile iOS app that would use machine learning technology to find unique everyday personalized gifts.
With Glifft having a few pre-conceived ideas (one of which incorporated a similar "like" and "dislike" swiping feature to Tinder), it was our challenge to explore product concepts and ultimately deliver an MVP.
Role: UX Designer
Over a 6-week timeframe, a 10 person design team collaboratively delivered the MVP. For a duration of the project, the team split into two micro teams: a UX Team and a UI Team.
As primarily a UX Designer on the UX Team, I conducted research, developed lo-fi wireframes, developed prototypes and created and performed user testing. I also led the visual design for the onboarding flow.
